At Shonan International School, we use the Inquiry Approach to instruct our students and achieve our goals.
Primary Years Programwas developed for children aged 3-12. It focuses on the development of the whole child, both within the classroom and the world outside. It provides a framework that supports children’s academic, social, emotional, physical and cultural needs.
PLAY YEARS PROGRAM- we know that children learn through play so we give them opportunities to explore their world, interact with others and develop their skills, through observation of children’s play, we gain insights into children’s development allowing us to provide opportunities to support their needs.
As play becomes more sophisticated, the child begins to express his oral language and knowledge in symbolic form. Play provides a context for children to practice newly acquired skills. Play also allows children to experiment with thoughts, ideas and social skills which may be complex but can be fostered in a safe environment.
