Benefits of Mixed aged Classroom


According to Dr Peter Gray, Age-mixed play is qualitatively different from play among children who are all similar in age. It is more nurturing, less competitive, often more creative, and it offers unique opportunities for learning. At kindergarten the students are continuously  taking the role of big brother and big sister by sharing their knowledge about the world with the younger ones. This picture shows a a big brother sharing his knowledge about the bugs that live on this oak tree.
