The students are currently exploring how Japan celebrates the new year. Yesterday they played a Japanese game popular during New Year’s celebration called fukuwarai.
Players are led to a table which has a paper drawing of a human face with no features depicted, and cutouts of several facial features. While blindfolded, the players attempt to place the features onto the face in the correct positions.
Through this game we are learning to use positional words such as left, right, up, down and closer!
