INQUIRY UNIT: CELEBRATIONS

🇨🇳🇯🇵 Currently we are comparing how Japan and China celebrates the new year differently.

👹After reading a Chinese folklore about the vicious beast named Nian, we learned that the Chinese people decorated the house during New Year’s in red to scare away Nian.

✂️This led us to create our own Chinese decorations to put up in our homes. When your child brings home the decorations, please ask your children to retell you the story of Nian!

For your information, Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between 21 January and 20 February. Happy Chinese New Yearto all our Chinese friends around the world !
